Law Enforcement Agencies Target Wilton’s Yard

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), and other law enforcement agencies executed a large-scale Multi-Agency Operation on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in Wilton’s Yard and surrounding areas in which several persons were arrested for possession of illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition.

The coordinated effort started at 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

This intelligence-led operation was launched in response to a surge in gun-related violence and increasing community reports of illicit activities. Strategic objectives included the recovery of firearms, narcotics, and stolen property; the arrest of individuals linked to violent and drug-related crimes; and the disruption of criminal transportation routes.

The operation unfolded in two phases:

Phase One: House Search Operations – Thirty search warrants were executed, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals and the seizure of substantial evidence. Key outcomes included:

  • 1,480 grams of cocaine
  • Multiple rounds of ammunition
  • 40 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition
  • A Glock pistol, 28 rounds of ammunition,
  • Additional recoveries from abandoned buildings included 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition, two unregistered motorcycles and suspected stolen electronics.

Phase Two: Traffic Enforcement Operations – Simultaneous with house searches, law enforcement established vehicle checkpoints at key junctions, resulting in:

  • 78 vehicles stopped and checked
  • 40 traffic violations recorded
  • 10 vehicles impounded, including three motorcycles
  • Execution of a Criminal Commitment Warrant on Appolinus Mathurin for drug possession
  • Recovery of knives and other bladed weapons from abandoned structures

A centrally located Mobile Command Station was deployed to coordinate operations and ensure seamless communication during the operation. There were no casualties during the operation and officers conducted this operation in accordance with the law.

Charges were preferred to the following individuals who were escorted to the First District Court where bail was granted

Kerim Luke Sylvestre charged with possession of 40 rounds of 5.56 ammunition without a valid license. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 cash or suitable surety

Jn Markie Jn Louis alias Garvin Jn Louis charged for possession of 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a valid license. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 cash or suitable surety.

Darnell Dannyson Marcial George charged for possession of 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a valid license. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 cash or suitable surety.

Tafari Calderon alias Jayden Joseph charged for possession of 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a valid license. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 cash or suitable surety.

Alexander Johnny alias Zanda of Morne Du Don was Charged for Possession of Controlled Drugs, Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply, Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and was granted bail in the sum of $29, 500.00 cash or suitable surety.

Gregor Jn Baptiste, Possession of cocaine bail – $7000 cash or suitable surety, Intent to Supply – $8000 cash or suitable surety.

Alfred Christopher aka Fredo of Castries was arrested during the operation at Wiltons Yard and Charged with two counts of Armed Robbery and for possession of 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition without a valid license. He was taken before a Magistrate in the First District Court in Castries and granted bail in the sum of $5,000 cash or suitable surety for Possession of Ammunition. His bail hearing is pending as it relates to the two counts of Armed Robbery.

Signing conditions were also assigned to the defendants bail conditions.
