GMC United won the SLFA Inc. Senior Men’s Club Football Championship title, triumphing over all obstacles to defeat Platinum FC on Sunday at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.
In a match characterized by intensity, GMC United demonstrated their resolve against former champions Platinum FC, who had once represented Saint Lucia in regional competitions.
GMC United claimed a hard-earned victory with a narrow 1-0 win. Following a closely contested first half, GMC made their mark in the 58th minute when Daren Joseph scored the goal that secured their victory.

The results of the semi-finals were as follows:
– GMC United and Victory Eagles played to a 3-3 draw.
– Platinum FC triumphed over Bays FC with a score of 3-0.
In the Third Place Playoff, the Victory Eagles triumphed over Chesters FC with a score of 3-1. Jerneil Alexander scored in the 8th minute, followed by Shan Alfred in the 22nd minute, and
Jevick Mc. Farlane added another in the 81st minute for the Eagles. Chesters FC experienced an unfortunate own goal by Zephaniah Edwin in the 28th minute.
At the conclusion of the match, the subsequent awards were presented:
– GMC United was awarded the Championship Trophy along with gold medals.
– Platinum FC received the Runners Up Trophy along with silver medals.
– The Victory Eagles secured the Third-Place trophy along with bronze medals.
In additional updates from the SLFA, matches proceeded in the SLFA Inc Girls Under 14 Championship on Saturday, April 5, at the La Fargue Playing Field in Choiseul.
Dennery secured a commanding 2-0 win over Soufriere, with Faye Alphonse scoring in the 21st minute and Anna May Emmanuel adding another goal in the 25th minute.
Desruisseaux achieved victory against Vieux Fort North and South. The match concluded with a score of 3-0, featuring goals from Mikya Blanchard in the 6th minute, Joycline Neptune in the 9th minute, and an own goal by Paeton St. Rose in the 29th minute.
Canaries and Choiseul ended in a scoreless stalemate.
Furthermore, the Finalists in the SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 District League Primary Schools competition have been established after the semifinals took place at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere Dennery on Sunday, March 6.
Mabouya Valley, the table toppers, clinched their place in the finals with a commanding 3-0 win against Desruisseaux. Zackim Francois netted two goals in the 1st and 11th minutes, while Keevan Louisy contributed another in the 58th minute.
Canaries secured a slim 1-0 win against Vieux Fort South, with Caison Clement netting the decisive goal in the 35th minute.
On Saturday, April 5, in a rescheduled match, Dennery triumphed over Anse La Raye with a score of 2-1. Jordon Jn. Baptiste and Ned Poleon scored for Dennery in the 30th and 41st minutes, while Shervin Charles found the net for Anse La Raye in the 14th minute.
