The Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information recently hosted the first-ever Souvenir Design Competition. This contest aimed to inspire and celebrate the creative talents of secondary school students, providing a unique platform to showcase their artistic abilities while connecting with their national heritage.

Appropriately themed ‘Pride in Every Piece: Celebrating Saint Lucia’s Treasures,’ the contest was designed to enhance the availability of locally made, unique craft items for cruise visitors, promoting Saint Lucia’s rich culture and creativity.

“The students were encouraged to create designs that embody national pride and highlight our country’s unique cultural and natural attributes. On Tuesday, April 1, the participants were all awarded certificates of participation, along with the judge’s picks, who all received monetary prizes and trophies,” the Ministry said in a statement.
