Espresso Delight: A must Visit Place

Espresso Delight offers an array of beverages. It’s perfect for coffee lovers, slushy addicts and anyone who’s health-conscious.

Essentially, it’s a great way to get your “fix”

Located at ‘Anchorage’ in Castries, it offers a stunning view of the Harbour.

“It’s a partnership between Lamar Frederick and myself,” business owner, Jnmill Augustin, said on Monday.

According to Augustin, the idea came to him around January last year, and “I didn’t know exactly how to pursue it or where to start but… the idea was lingering [in my head and I was] trying to see how I could start,” he explained.

“I ran it by [Lamar] – we were acquaintances at the time, but we’d worked together [before]. We have respect for each other so I figured if somebody had to give me an honest opinion or feedback it would be him. In less than 24 hours he came back to me with… stuff we would need to start the business and from there we never stopped working together,” Augustin informed THE VOICE.

Espresso opened in Castries a few weeks ago and it’s been thriving since.

“We actually opened [opposite Harbour Club] last year and [although] the location is nice, it wasn’t convenient for [us] just because [there was] no walk-in traffic compared to Castries.  When we confirmed we were getting a spot here we closed immediately,” he stated.

Augustin started the business with a desire to succeed. He had no experience, didn’t drink coffee, and needed a lot of help along the way.

“We started from the bottom. We were the ones training our staff. We had sleepless nights. Some of our friends came over [to] try the drinks. We experimented and if something didn’t work we’d mix it again. We found ourselves drinking coffee after three in the morning because we were… trying to get it right before we put ourselves out there,” he explained.

Moreover, Augustin noted, with the internet, “everything’s available to you right now.”

In the end, it turned out to be a coffee lover’s dream.

Espresso Delight offers fantastic blends and “you cannot come to us today and not leave with a drink,” the 30-year-old said brightly.

With a supermarket nearby, Augustin can get his ingredients as quickly as possible without the hassle.

“We’re directly in front of the Waterfront and one of the things that is most important to us is the access to the supermarket. A lot of our ingredients are [there] and we never had that before. We have a large assortment (of drinks),” Augustin stated.

“We offer iced lattes, iced teas, Frappuccinos and we introduced the refresher and slushy machine. We also offer hot lattes but on demand,” he added.

He’s hoping they’ll go island-wide.

“I think it is [feasible] because we’re offering something different; something you cannot get elsewhere, so I think because of that we have the opportunity of opening up north again at a more convenient location and succeeding as well,” he said.

The response to Espresso has been very positive thus far.

“People never thought I would own a coffeeshop because I never drank coffee… sometimes you have to go outside the box to try and do something; never limit yourself,” he emphasised.
