Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Saint Lucia’s Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information, addressed the business community during an executive luncheon hosted by the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce.

Minister Hilaire emphasised the importance of clarifying and reinforcing the credibility of the CIP. He urged everyone, regardless of political persuasion, to avoid damaging the country’s reputation.

The minister outlined the mechanisms that make the CIP resistant and reliable. He stressed the need for accurate and credible information.

To ensure reliability and transparency, Saint Lucia’s government manages CIP legislation and has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the OECS/CBI. The MOA defines common procedures, including pricing, information sharing, security screening, and agent regulation.

Recent improvements include transparent requirements for CIP citizenship. Saint Lucia also complies with principles aligned with the United States.

An international third-party firm will conduct an audit of Saint Lucia’s CIP, demonstrating the commitment to maintaining high standards.

Executive Director Brian Louisy highlighted the importance of obtaining verifiable information from credible sources to prevent speculation, rumors, and misinformation.

The executive luncheon serves as a forum for members to access reliable information.
