Soccer Action Gains Momentum in Local Football Leagues

B 1 FC went to the top of the table with a hard fought 2 – 1 victory over New Generations as the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Senior Men’s Club Championship (Group E) continued this week (Tuesday 27) at the Fond Assau Playing Field.

Andel Constantine gave the home team New Generation an early lead in the 16’, but 12 minutes later Andrus Remy equalised for a 1-1 draw at the interval.

As the match progressed, opposing sides went on the offensive in search of the ‘go-ahead’ goal. However, Mario Auguste 67’ conversion made the difference to provide B 1 with the victory and maximum points.

Matches continued this week at Fond Assau with Agardianz vs. Flames SC and Big Players vs. Garrand FC.

Meanwhile, the Saint Lucia Semi-Professional Football League (SPFL) qualifying rounds of matches has been completed.
