
Selena Ross, a Saint Lucian Under-19 female cricketer and Windward Islands junior player, has earned a spot in the 15-member West Indies squad that will tour England for a series of matches.
Selena, a student at Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, specializes in left-arm swing bowling and left-handed lower-order batting. She has been involved in cricket since the age of 13, starting out in the Northern Cluster Grassroots Cricket Programme and later becoming a member of the High-Performance Centre (HPC).
The West Indies U19s are set to play in a series of competitive matches, including an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) development tournament that includes teams from Scotland and Ireland. The West Indies Women’s Under-19 team will play three T20 matches and face the ECB Southern Under-19 Women’s Regional team in a series of fixtures including two T20 double-headers and a 30-over match.
Selena has trained with the Windies Under-19s girls camp and is thrilled to have been selected for the West Indies squad. In a previous interview with VOICE Sports, she expressed her passion for the sport and her determination to succeed.
The West Indies Women’s Under-19 Squad includes: Asabi Callender (co-captain), Erin Deane (co-captain), Elecia Bowman, Abigail Bryce, Kenika Cassar, Dicoreya Collymore, Trisha Hardat, Theanny Herbert-Mayers, Brianna Harricharan, Danellie Manns, Aneisha Miller, Amrita Ramtahal, Selena Ross, Kristen Sutherland, Aaliyah Weekes.
