Saint Lucia achieved a turnaround victory against French Guyana with a score of 4 – 2, after their earlier loss to Guadeloupe on August 5.
The matches are taking place in Oranjestad, Aruba.
Amaya Emmanuel scored a hat-trick for Team Saint Lucia, adding to Kyla Lionel’s early goal in the 2nd minute.
On Thursday (August 8) Team 758 Girls secured an impressive 6-0 victory over Aruba All Stars. Ivana Marshal scored twice in the 8th and 29th minutes. Kaila Polius and Kenya Richard also added to the tally with goals in the 13th and 27th minutes, respectively.
Amaya Emmanuel scored another two goals in the 35th and 37th minutes.
Saint Lucia’s final game in the preliminary rounds was against Bonnaire on Friday, August 9. Saint Lucia is currently in second position in their group, behind Guadeloupe.
They are well-positioned to advance to the next round.
Locally, CT Foundation secured a significant 7-0 victory over OBLA Fusion in the SLFA Inc. Senior Men’s Club Championships at the Anse La Raye Playing Field.
CT Foundation goals included braces from Shermon St. Ange in the 69th and 89th minutes, Edd Fred in the 77th and in added time, Curtis Edward in the 34th minute, John Kwayne in the 73rd minute, and Cornelius Edmund in the 81st minute.
Finally , the Phillip J. Pierre Marchand Football League U12 and U15 football competition starts this weekend at the Marchand Football Grounds. Each age division will feature two groups playing a Round Robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals and finals.
