On Monday July 8, 2024, at approximately 12.20 am., a report of a collision involving a pedestrian, and a motor vehicle was received by the Gros Islet Police Station. This collision was reported to have occurred in Grande Riviere, Gros-Islet.
The male pedestrian sustained injuries and was conveyed to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEU) by Saint Lucia Fire Service Personnel for medical treatment. The pedestrian remained admitted at the hospital, where he passed away; he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death was multiple bruises to the brain. The deceased has been identified as fifty-year-old Christopher Augustin, a resident of Norbert, Gros-Islet.
