The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) is excited to announce a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and advance their careers. Through the St Lucia Human Capital Resilience Project, funded by the World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, SALCC is providing free training programmes that lead to Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs).
Training Areas:
- Basic Car Maintenance
- Food Service Operations
- Carpentry
These courses are designed to equip participants with practical skills relevant to the world of work. Successful completion of the training will result in individuals writing the exam for the regionally recognized and approved CVQ qualification recognised by CARICOM.
Course Details:
- Duration: August 5 to September 27, 2024
- Time: Evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-1 p.m.
The eligibility criteria for the free training courses at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) are as follows:
1. Age: Participants must be at least 16 years old.
2. Educational Background: Functional Literacy and Numeracy.
3. Interest and Commitment: Participants should have a genuine interest in the selected training area to CVQ certification and be committed to attending the sessions regularly.
4. Priority will be given to unemployed or uncertified individuals in a related field.
