National Soccer Teams Prepare for Major Competitions

THE Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. currently has three national teams in training for upcoming regional and international tournaments.

In preparation for the 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for June, the Senior National Men’s Football Team has been going through the drills under the watchful eye of Head Coach Stern John and Assistant-Coach Francis “Baba” Lastic.

The training sessions are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

U-17 girls in training

In addition, the U-17 Girls are preparing for participation in the Concacaf U-17 Girls Championships, with sessions on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Overseeing the young ladies are Francis Mc. Donald, Minerva Charles, Shenelle St. Louis and Della Ashby.

The U-17 Boys are also undergoing training on Wednesdays and Saturdays for participation in the FIFA U 17 World Cup qualifiers. The technical unit includes Head Coach Ryan Desir and Assistant Coach Sommers Augustin, with Shane Paul as Manager.

All the training sessions are conducted at the SLFA Inc. Technical Centre, in Grande Riviere Dennery.
