On December 7, 2023, the Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation Saint Lucia held a one-day examination at the Human Resource Centre, Vladimir Lucien Theater in Gros Islet. The examination resulted in the conferment of new karate belt ranks and the presentation of diplomas and certificates to over twenty-five students  who participated in the 54th national karate examination.

Sensei Ezra Jn. Baptiste, the President and Instructor of Zanshin Karate Dojo, gave the awards, assisted by Sensei Deborah Jn Baptiste and Monica Dudley, who represented her deceased brother, Sensei Victor Dudley.

The recipients of the new ranks were:

White Belt:

– Kaelyn Preville

– Davia Dupre

– Neyah Jawahir (Female)

Yellow Belt:

– Vijai Plummer

– J’Quan Taitt

– Ethan–Daniel Jordon (Male)

– Thandi Wilson

– Arielle Jallim

– Leilani Felicien (Female)

Orange Belt:

– Amore Ferdinand

– Zhamari David (Male)

– Kyra Dolcy (Female)

Green Belt:

– Joshua Jagroop (Male)

Blue Belt:

– Janae Mc Kie

– Lianne Naitram

– Teyana Naitram (Female)

Purple Belt:

– Davion Isidore (Male)

Black Belt:

– Trevor Bristol, 2nd Degree Black (Male)

– Cianna Dalson, 1st Degree Black (Female)

Overall, the ceremony was a success and recognized the hard work and dedication of the students who participated in the examination.
