1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) Limited’s Managing Director, Fletcher St. Jean, earlier this week led a high-powered executive team to neighboring St. Vincent & The Grenadines (SVG), to pursue implementation of the bank’s 2024 Oversight Strategy for its branch in the neighboring multi-island state.

The Managing Director, accompanied by the bank’s Chief People Officer Nadia Alcide and Chief Technology Officer Marcus Jolie, says his team left the island Wednesday (January 17) for Kingstown, “to ensure 1st National Bank stabilizes its presence in the market and to further enhance our brand and build partnerships” in SVG.

1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) Ltd. acquired the SVG operations of RBTT in April 2021 and completed the new ownership conversion in February 2022, with its final regulatory banking license acquired in August 2022

The SVG branch has been visited by the MD and other top 1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) executives, including President Nigel Fulgence and Deputy Managing Director Sandra Fontinelle.

Chief People Officer Alcide, responsible for all 1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) human resources, engaged with the SVG branch’s employees through a staff meeting and Chief Technology Officer Jolie held a similar engagement with technical staff.

The Vincentian branch’s management and staff have been integrating with their colleagues in Saint Lucia and participated in the inaugural 1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) online 2024 ‘Soiree Noir’ Christmas Party and Staff Awards Ceremony last month, facilitated by live streaming between the Royalton Hotel at Cap Estate in Gros Islet and St. Vincent’s Palm Island hotel.

Saint Lucia’s first and only indigenous national bank (formerly the St. Lucia Cooperative Bank) just completed its 85th year last year formally acquired the assets of RBTT in SVG and the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in Saint Lucia.

MD St. Jean, who was on January 16 elected as the new Chair of the Bankers Association of Saint Lucia (BASL), says: “We at 1st National Bank (Saint Lucia) Ltd. will work with all other fellow banking, financial and commercial entities in 2024, including our SVG branch, to continue improving our services to customers and improvement of the roles in these new and ever-changing times.”
