SLFA Club Competitions Produce Exciting Results ⚽️

Action in the SLFA Inc. Island Cup continues unabated with some exciting match results at various venues.

Last weekend, at the Dennery Playing Field, La Clery went on a goal spree to defeat Mabouya Valley 5 – 0. Scoring for the city side were Malik St. Prix in the 5 th and 68th minutes, Aazah Daniel in the 62nd minute, Yanic Noel 81st minute, and Mervin St. Romain in the 88th minute.

In other results – Gros Islet beat Vieux Fort North 3 – 1; and Canaries got past Choiseul 3 – 2.

Results from other matches were as follows:

Last week, in the Super League, at the Soufriere Mini Stadium; Zacherry Leriche netted the lone goal in the match to help Central Castries edge past Marchand 1 – 0.

After trailing 2-0 at the interval, home team  Soufriere fought back strongly to earn a 2-2 draw versus Anse La Raye.

Scoring for Soufriere, were Inanco Sylvester in the 56th minute and Curtly John in the 63rd minute. Mc Arthur Louise netted a brace for Anse La Raye with goals in the 33rd minute of normal play and in the1st minute of added on time in the first half.

In a Super League encounter, at the Micoud Playing field; South Castries and Roseau played to a 3-3 draw; while Micoud defeated Mon Repos 3 – 0.

Meanwhile, matches in the SLFA Inc. Under 17 football competition continued at the Technical Centre last weekend.

New Generation edged out T Valley 3 – 2, with goals from Curtrel Francois an own goal in the 55th minute, Dervaj Edward 63rd minute and Givonie Lionel in the 66th minute.

Uptown Rebels defeated Challengers 2 – 0; with goals from Ryan Simeon 40th minute and Keshawn Jn. Paul 54 minute.

Piton Travel Young Stars edged out Victory Eagles 2-1. with a brace Sylvan Alphonse scored a brace with goals in the 71st and 75th  minutes for Young Stars, while Victory Eagles converted through Keshon Leriche in the 74 minute.

Black Panthers maintained their consistency with a 3 – 1 victory over DCYO. Panthers goal scorers were Terev Brandis from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, Romel Jn. Baptiste 31st minute and Cy Alcindor in the 64th minute. Scoring for DCYO were Carlton Minvielle in the 4th minute via the penalty spot.

The semi-finals of the GIFL/Guardsman U-15 Football Tournament is due as teams battled out for qualifying spots.

New Generation exited the contest, after the team failed to make it to the top two qualifiers from their group.

The Groups position are as follows:

Group A:

Valley Soccer Academy – 12 pts, GMC United – 9 pts, New Generation – 6 pts, 1987 All Stars – 1 pt, and VSADC – 1 pt.

Group B:

Lancers FC – 15 pts, City Foundation FC – 12 pts, Monchy United FC – 6 pts, and Northern United – 3 pts, NYAH – 3 pts, and Pioneers FC – 3 pts.

The semifinals will feature Valley Soccer Academy vs. CT Foundation and Lancers FC vs. GMC United.

In other updates, the results of matches played in the Veterans In Sports Inc. Veterans Championship last weekend, were as follows:

defending champions Lancers and Marchand Veterans played to a goalless draw, while Soufriere Veterans outplayed Choiseul Veterans 4 – 1. Vieux Fort North and Canaries Veterans also played to a 1 – 1 draw.
