Saint Lucia dominated the 2023 OECS Table-Tennis Championships to emerge victorious in each of the category they competed in the recently held sub-regional tournament.
According to a Ministry of Sports spokesperson, “Our young squad defeated every team 3-0 in the Men’s Teams category for the first time.”
In the Ladies’ doubles, Team 758 beat every team 3-0, and secured 1st and 2nd positions in the mixed doubles.
In the Men’s’ Doubles event, Saint Lucia made a clean sweep to claim the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd spots
Shatal Charles distinguished performance stood out as the youngest Senior OECS Champion at 13 years of age.
The tournament was held at Massacre Playing Field, Dominica.
St Vincent and the Grenadines placed second, while Dominica secured the third place. The Table Tennis teams of five countries participated in the championship which ran from December 15 to 17.
Grenada and Antigua and Barbuda were the other competitors in the tournament.

Women Games
Women Double
The first position was secured by Team Saint Lucia, which consisted of Zarianne Anthony and Shatal Charles. At the same time, the duo from SVG with Rosemarie Newland and Amba John played exceptionally in the tournament and secured the second position in the category.
Further, the team of Dominica consisting of Leah Cumberbatch and Jessica McCarthur secured the third position in the Women Double category.
Women Single
In the women single, Saint Lucia gained top position as player Shatal Charles secured back-to-back victories in her matches and won the gold medal in the category.
The second position was secured by Shanecia Delpeshe for St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Zarianne Anthony of Dominica won the bronze medal in the category.
Men Games
Men Double
The Saint Lucian duo of De Andre Calderon and Dawitt Nurse won the gold medal in men’s doubles. St Vincent and the Grenadines finished the game in the second position as the team of Adrian Albert and Dawitt Nurse won silver medals.
The third position was secured by Dominica with the team of Joshua Lubin and Manie Eluthere.
Men Single
In men single, Saint Lucia secured the first position as De Andre Calderon won a gold medal. Dominica stood second in the category as Manie Eluthere won a silver medal.
Dawitt Nurse from St Vincent and the Grenadines secured third position.
Mix Doubles
The first position was secured by De Andre Calderon and Shatal Charles of Saint Lucia. The second position was captured by Joshua Lubin and Zarianne Anthony of Dominica. While the third position was secured by the team of St Vincent and the Grenadines with Sean Stanley and Shanecia Delpeshe.
Notably, Saint Lucia reclaimed the championship spot after hosting the tournament 10 years ago, in 2013.
