Saint Lucia Picks 14-man Squad for W/ Wards Super 50 Tournament 🏏

A squad of 14 players have  been selected to represent Saint Lucia in the upcoming Windward Islands Cricket Board Super 50 tournament to be held from September 25 to October 2 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). In addition, the St Lucia National Cricket Association (SLNCA) selection panel named four (4) reserves to the team.

Former West Indies U 19 opening batter and captain Kimani Melius will captain the team; while his deputy will be another former West Indies U 19 captain Akeem Auguste. This year sees the return of the experienced campaigner Johnson Charles to the team, along with Kings team-mates Shadrack Descartes and McKenny Clarke.

Veteran Windwards player Larry Edward, will join the team in St. Vincent.

Stephen Naitram, and Sabinus Emmanuel return and will be joined by newcomer Vernillius Gabriel in the batting lineup. Exciting young players Tarrique Edward, Jaden Elibox, and Keon Gaston return this year after making their senior debuts last year.

Left-handed top-order batter Johnell Eugene and pace bowler Tyrel Chicot complete the list and are set to debut for the Senior National Team.

The team is as follows:

Kimani Melius- Captain, Ackeem Auguste- Vice Captain, Stephen Naitrum, Johnson Charles, Tyrel Chicot, Shadrack Descartes, Tarrique Edward, Larry Edward, Jaden Elibox, Sabinus Emmanuel, Mc Kenny Clarke, Johnell Eugene, Vernillius Gabriel, and Keon Gaston.

The four reserves are; Murgaran Shoulette, Dornan Edward, Dillon John, and Noel Leo.

The players will continue training at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground under the watchful eyes of coaches Garey Mathurin and Donald Albert.

The 14-man squad is set to depart for the tournament on September, 24.
