On Sunday, September 3, about 6:45 p.m., the Traffic Department of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force received a report of a fatal motor vehicle accident along the Bexon Highway in Castries.
The officers responded to the scene of the accident and preliminary investigations revealed that a motor pickup driving in a southern direction collided with a pedestrian along the Bexon Highway.
The pedestrian who sustained injuries, was transported to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital via ambulance for medical attention. He was later identified as fifty-seven-year old Curtis Monrose of Bexon, Castries. Curtis Monrose later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner at the facility.
The post-mortem examination of the deceased is scheduled for a later date.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force continues to advise motorists to exercise caution while driving and to comply with the legislation that regulate vehicle operations and road usage.
