ON Tuesday 27th June, a cheque presentation ceremony took place at the home of the Presentation Brothers in Vigie. Cheques were presented to three recipients namely Dr Karleen Mason, Executive Director C.A.R.E., on behalf of the Centre for Adolescent Renewal and Education (C.A.R.E.); Ms Lancia Isidore, Managing Director, SLCC, on behalf of the St Lucia Crisis Centre; and Ms Kourtney Labadie, a deserving student of the SALCC, hailing from the village of Anse-la-Raye (represented by her mother).
Presenting cheques of One thousand pounds, One thousand pounds and Five hundred pounds respectively to the happy recipients was well-known, longstanding President of “Unity of UK St Lucian Associations”, Mrs Felicia Hippolyte, accompanied by her husband Greenage, currently visiting the land of their birth.
As usual, the monetary gifts emanate from the proceeds of the Association’s Saint Lucia National Day Concert and Dance held annually in the UK in the month of February. This year’s event was held on Saturday 25th February.
Also in attendance at Tuesday’s ceremony was Presentation Brothers’ Community Leader and C.A.R.E. volunteer Bro James Needham, as well as Presentation Brothers Associates Co-ordinator Nahdjla Bailey.
