Action Continues in SLFA Inc. Club Competitions

Last Saturday, a Div. II encounter in the Saint Lucia Football Association’s (SLFA) Inc. Club competition at the Desruisseaux Playing Field, resulted in Black Panthers defeating Ti Rocher 3-nil, as some action-packed league matches continue.

Black Panthers goal scorers were Troy Simon 20th, David Henry 43rd and Kenny Nicholas 56th minutes.

In a Div. I matchup; Northern United beat 1987 All Stars 3-0 with a brace from Samuel Louision in the 44th and 60th minutes and an own goal from Javon Wilson in the 15th minute.

Other results in the SLFA’s Inc. Club competition to date, are as follows:

In Div. I, on July 6, at the Micoud Playing Field, Monchy FC edged out Uptown Rebels 1 – 0; with a goal from Troy Greenidge in the 64th minute.

Platinum and GMC played to an exciting 2 – 2 draw.

Scoring for Platinum were Leslie Tal 15th and Glendan Ferdinand in the 49th minutes while GMC got their goals from Brandon Sandiford a penalty in the 63rd minute and Shannon Phillip in the 69th minute.

At the Dennery Playing Field, DCYO defeated Knights FC 3 – 0 with goals from Sherquille William in the 13th minute. This was followed up with a brace from Nathaniel Fontenelle with goals in the 67th and 79th minutes.

New Generation got the better of Diamond Ballers 3 – 1. Goal scorers were Baggio Edward 10th, Rickelme Lionel 39th and Shakim Hunte 79th minutes.

Jesse James pulled one back for Diamond Ballers in the 43rd minute.

In the final La Celery Football League / Parliamentary Cup preliminary played, last week, at the La Clery Playing Field – Agardianz and Lancers U -19 played to an exciting 2 – 2 draw. Scoring for Agardianz was Venroy Alfred with a brace in the 47th and 87th minutes, while Kinson Carasco and Kevin Dupre scored for Lancers U- 19 in the 18th and 76th minutes respectively.

The in-house competition that featured some invitees was won by Radics with 17 pts., followed by Lancers U-19 with 13 pts. and Active Hill Strikers 12 pts.

Other competitors are as follows; Agardianz – 9 pts, La Clery U 19 – 9 pts, VSADC U 21 – 8 pts, Island Vibe Brotherhood – 5 pts and La Clery Veterans – 3 pts.

The top four teams qualify for the semifinals.

Meanwhile, two matches were played in the Marchand Football League (MFL) Normalisation Committee Arnold Clouden Memorial Men’s Club competition at the Marchand Grounds, last week,

Bagatelle edged out Boulevard 1 – 0 with a goal from Kershawn Jeremie in the 72nd minute.

Arundel Hill got the better of Pavee 4 – 1, with goals from Andrus Remy 42nd and 47th min, Meshack Edward a penalty in the 11th min and the other from Donavan Phillip in the 60th min.

Arthur Augustin had opened the scoring for Pavee in the 5th minute.
