A cohort of 17 correction officers are now better equipped to usher inmates of the Bordelais Correctional Facility through the process of rehabilitation after completing a two-week training session.

The developmental programme was undertaken with the goal of confirming participating correctional officers as parole liaison officers. Commencing on May 26th, the ‘Introduction to Correctional Planning Training’ initiative was facilitated by Assistant Director of Probation and Parole Services Mr. Cuthbert Henry, with the support of existing parole officers.

A series of comprehensive sessions examined areas critical to the correctional system, including ‘Criminological Theory’ and ‘Analysis and Risk Assessment’. At a closing ceremony marking the end of the initial bout of training on June 16th, officers were presented with certificates recognizing their completion of the initial exercise.
