Jennès Entrepreneur Showcase to Feature Business Coaching Students on June 23

The June 23 Entrepreneur Showcase will feature some of Saint Lucia’s most promising youth and women entrepreneurs.

Saint Lucia’s growing entrepreneurial spirit will be on display on Friday, June 23, 2023, with an Entrepreneur Showcase featuring participants from the Jennès Upskilling Business Coaching Programme.

The Entrepreneur Showcase will be held in the Vladimir Lucien Theatre at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Centre, in Gros Islet, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The participants will showcase a wide range of goods and services, including catering and culinary services, childcare services, information technology, fashion, and more.

Members of the public are asked to visit the showcase to support the participants, some of whom will be offering free samples. Admission is free, and there will be lots of giveaways on the day.

The Business Coaching programme started on May 3, 2023, with a webinar online session and ends on June 14, 2023, with the business showcase on June 23, 2023. The programme was fully funded and will be jointly hosted by the Governments of Saint Lucia and Taiwan in collaboration with Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC). Participants will each receive a certificate of completion together with the Angel Grant Fund from the Taiwan Government.

Business coaching for the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) programme was developed to help Saint Lucian entrepreneurs build a more successful business through round-table discussions, presentations and mentorship. The programme was facilitated as a webinar series conducted by industry experts who delved into core areas of business operations. It not only provides the entrepreneur with the necessary technical and soft skills needed to run a successful venture, but it also creates linkages with qualified professionals who act as coaches and mentors to the 200 local entrepreneurs.

Courses covered during the webinar were as follows: Sales and Marketing Strategy, Operations Management, Financial Literacy and Accounting, Human Resource Management, Business Strategy, Customer Service and Soft Skills, Contracts and Business Negotiations, Globalization and Export, Personal Branding and Image, Pitching your Business.
