All’s well that ends well, and so it was with the Castries Football Council (CFC) LUCELEC/BOSL Youth league competition, which ended last Sunday, signaling another successful and rewarding season.
CFC personnel say they are pleased “with plenty of positives and fond memories from supporters, players and organizers alike”, and would like to acknowledge the support and input of the sponsors for “their unbroken support, which aided tremendously towards the running of the tournament.”
In the under-12 Division, New Generation Football Club emerged victorious with captain Shem Ishmael finishing as the division’s top scorer with six goals.
NYAH FC placed second and VSADC came in third.
In the under 14 Division, Valley Soccer Club came out on top with a 2-0 win over Monchy United in the final. With an own goal added to a superb strike from Irvin Peter earned VSC a well-fought victory.
Captain of Valley Soccer Keon Morgan, Monchy United’s Shiloh John and FLOW Lancers FC’s Alexander Elliot all finished as top goal scorers with three goals each.
In the U16 Div. – GMC United finished in first place with talisman Josh George as the top goal scorer with an impressive eight goals. He also captured the finals MVP award.
FLOW Lancers FC took second place, while VSADC captured the bronze award with a third-place finish.
In the under 18 Division, GMC rekindled the rivalry with another victory over Valley Soccer Club by a 1-nil score-line, with a strike from Josh George. Despite ending as finalists, VSC captain Mervin St. Romaine finished as the top goal scorer with eight goals.
In the female Div. – FLOW Lancers FC emerged as champions while FC Pioneers finished in second place. Destiny Daniel of FLOW Lancers FC captured the finals MVP award.
