The Management of St. Jude Hospital and the Leadership of the National Workers Union (NWU) have formally agreed to urgently and vigorously pursue all outstanding industrial relations matters between the parties.
That information was conveyed to the employees of the St. Jude Hospital at a general meeting held with the employees by their Bargaining Representative, on Thursday January 26, 2023. This stance was given full support by the employees bearing in mind that overall negotiations and job reclassification are currently two major outstanding industrial relations matters.
The employees gave the union a mandate to request that all negotiations should be concluded at the latest by 31st March 2023 and the Reclassification Process completed by 30th September 2023. The employees emphasized that the Reclassification Exercise should be a joint undertaking between the St. Jude Hospital and the National Workers Union. The employees reiterated their commitment to continue to enhance the overall performance of the medical institution, but also look forward to receiving improved working conditions in keeping with the operations of an established medical essential service.
The meeting which was held at the Auditorium of the St. Jude Hospital, was well attended. The National Workers Union is the recognized Bargaining Representative for the St. Jude Hospital employees.
