Clerical and technical workers employed with JANNOU Credit Union will now enjoy benefits provided in a new industrial agreement.
The National Workers Union (NWU), the bargaining agent which represents the employees negotiated the wage transactions.
According to an NWU official, the workers will receive a ten percent general wage increase spread over three years: 3% in Years 1 and 2 respectively and 4% in the third year.
Provisions for improvements in Subsistence/Meal Allowance and Travel Allowance and a reasonable back pay will also form part of the new industrial accord.
Secretary General of the NWU, Cde Johann Harewood has disclosed that the industrial agreement will be signed shortly in the presence of the Labour Commissioner at the Department of Labour to expedite the full implementation of the clauses in the agreement.
