Damian Greaves to moderate panel on ‘Case for Reparations for Grenada’

Saint Lucian educator Dr Damian Greaves will tomorrow (Thursday, May 26) join top regional and international speakers in an online discussion on ‘The Case for Reparations for Grenada’.

Dr Greaves, who’s based at the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, will join speakers, History teachers, archivists and novelists Kizzy Henry Cadet, John Albert Martin and Dunbar Campbell, as well as Ph D History candidate Tesfa Peterson.

The BBC’s US-based presenter Laura Trevelyan will also be among the panelists following a recent visit to the island to trace her ancestors’ roles in Slavery in Grenada.

The online discussion is organized by the Grenada National Reparations Commission (GNRC) and the University of The West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Grenada.

Dr Greaves, who will moderate tomorrow’s discussion, is a former MP for Dennery South and Minister for Health in Saint Lucia.

He is also a member of the government-appointed GNRC.

The online discussion starts at 6:30pm.
