Police are today piecing together leads as they attempt to crack the island’s latest homicide.
According to officials from the Fire Service Headquarters, on Tuesday, April 19th, a distress call was received about an alleged shooting incident on St. Louis street in Castries.
Emergency personnel would find one male believed to be in his twenties laying on the ground surrounded by police officers. “An assessment of the victim revealed that he sustained several penetrating wounds to his body and had shallow breathing”.
The victim’s wounds were managed prior to transportation to the hospital, and he also received help with ventilation. En route to the OKEU hospital, the victim became void of vital signs, and, despite the valiant efforts of the emergency crew, he succumbed to his injuries.
The homicide count for the year 2022 now stands at 19.
