Finalists have been decided in the St. Lucia Football Association Inc. Island Super Cup following the results of two exciting semifinal matches at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort on Thursday 7th April.
In the first encounter Vieux Fort North prevailed over the National Under-20 team 5 – 4 on penalties following an exciting goalless draw. Both teams created numerous chances but failed to capitalise on them.
However, the more composed Southern lads prevailed in the end.
In the other encounter, La Clery edged out Micoud with a narrow 2 – 1 win to advance to the finals. They got their goals with a brace by Jeremy Abraham in the 32nd and 45th min, while Levi Altidore scored for Micoud in the 77th min.
The Island Cup comes to an end on Sunday 10th April with the National Under-20 and Micoud squaring off at 6.00 pm in the Third Place Match Up.
This will be followed by the grand finals at 8.00 pm between La Clery and Vieux Fort North.
