In commemoration of the 43rd Anniversary of Saint Lucia’s Independence and the 43rd Anniversary of the establishment of Pigeon Island as a National Landmark, the Saint Lucia National Trust will open the Pigeon Island National Landmark Interpretation Centre and in collaboration with SNUBA Saint Lucia will launch a new dive feature at Pigeon Island.
The opening of the Interpretation Centre is set to commence at 10 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, followed by the launch of the dive feature.
Included in the Programme of activities, are remarks by the Saint Lucia National Trust’s Patron Dame Pearlette Louisy and Address by the Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre.
Pigeon Island is regarded as one of the Caribbean’s most historic landmarks and picturesque spots with a history that dates back to pre-Columbian times. The 1782 Battle of the Saints is one of its most famous memories.
