Wins for Lancers FC and 1987 All Stars in SLFA Division 2

FOUR matches were scheduled to be played in the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Scotts Sports Awards Division 2 competition under the theme ‘Let’s Keep Covid Out’ on Saturday 14th August.

However, only two materialized as the Anse La Raye playing field became waterlogged after persistent rain, forcing the postponement of the scheduled matches.

Nevertheless, despite the relentless rain, two matches were played at the SLFA Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.

In the opener, Lancers FC, despite trailing for most of the game, overcame a hat trick by Jessie James in the 10th, 37th and 59th minute to secure all three points as they outlasted Diamond Ballers FC 4 – 3.

It was an epic display by the Lads in Blue who managed with braces from Nial Alexander 4th and 76th minute and Albertini Phillip in the 50th and 2nd minute of added on time.

In the other game played 1987 All Stars got the better of Togetherness Youth 2 – 0, with goals from Johnae Seraphine in the 47th and the other a penalty by Stephane Longville in the 88th minute.

Meanwhile, the game which was carded for Sunday 15th August at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds between top of the table, Platinum FC and Monchy FC was postponed.
