Matches continue this weekend at venues around the island in the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. / Scotts Sport’s and Awards Club Championship under the theme ‘Lets Kick Covid Out’.
Today from 2.00 p.m., in Division 2 at the Saint Lucia Football Association Technical Centre in Grande Riviere (Dennery), it will be Lancers FC versus the National U20 team, with 1987 All Stars playing Bays at 4.00 p.m.
Also, today from 5.00 p.m. at the Anse La Raye playing field, RV Juniors will come up against Victory Eagles FC with New Generation FC taking on B1 FC at 7.00 p.m.
Tomorrow, (Sunday 8th) from 5.00 p.m. in the Premier League at the Anse La Raye playing field, VSADC versus El Ninos and Monchy FC against Ti Rocher FC at 7.00 p.m.
Also on Sunday, from 5.00 p.m. at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds (PMG), GMC FC versus Uptown Rebels FC while at 7:00p.m it will be Knights FC versus Northern United FC.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday 4th August in the Premier Division played at the Anse La Raye playing field in a high intensity match, Monchy FC edged out Uptown Rebels FC 1 – 0 with a Nehemiah Wilfred strike in the 80th minute.
In the other game played at the same venue, Northern United FC came from behind to defeat VSADC 2 – 1, with goals from Jamie Prospere in the 54th and Sherwin Simon in the 86th minute.
Wilson Charlemagne scored for VSADC in the 7th minute.
At the PMG, Platinum FC maintained their unbeaten streak defeating Knights FC 4 – 2.
For Platinum FC, the goal scorers were Gregson President with a brace (2) in the 1st and 42nd minute, the latter a penalty and Noah Nicholas and Ridel Stanislaus in the 15th and 30th minute respectively.
Jahneil Hunte in the 49th and Elisha Talbert in the 85th minute reduced the deficit for Knights FC.
In the final game played, El Ninos FC swamped GMC FC 6 – 0. Mayvy Resmay scored a hat trick with goals in the 34th, 36th and 45th minute with the others coming from Shadrick Flavius 24th, Brad Bideau 41st and Dwight Preudhomme in the 60th minute.
On Tuesday at the Canaries playing field Togetherness Youth defeated T Valley 2 – 0 and
RV Juniors had the better of Diamond Ballers FC 5-1.
At the PMG, BI FC after trailing for most of the game pulled off an exciting 3 – 2 victory over Victory Eagles FC. They got their goals from Andrus Remy with a brace in the 62nd and 67th minute and Akim Francis in the 39th minute.
Shervin George 36th and Darrel Francis 56th minute scored for Victory Eagles FC.
On Sunday 1st August at the PMG, Uptown Rebels FC defeated Knights FC 8 – 1 and
Platinum FC defeated Ti Rocher 2 – 1.
At Canaries, Monchy FC defeated VSADC 1 – 0. In the other game played, GMC FC got the better of Northern United FC 2 – 1.
On Saturday 31st July, at the SLFA Technical Centre, the National Under 20 team suffered a slight setback when they were held to a 1 – 1 draw by Victory Eagles.
Earlier on at the same venue, Lancers FC earned a 3 – 1 victory over Bays FC.
In other games played on Saturday 31st, at the Anse La Raye playing field, New Generation FC got the better of Togetherness Youth FC 4 – 2.
In the other game played T Valley FC edged out RV Juniors FC 2 – 1.
