On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation of 1 new case of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory. This is from a batch of 105 samples that were taken from June 11 to June 14. They were all processed on Monday, June 14.
These newly diagnosed individuals were seen at community respiratory clinics and were assessed and tested for COVID-19. In keeping with the national COVID19 testing protocol, the individual was placed in home quarantine by healthcare practitioners while awaiting the test results. Arrangements have since been made for the individual to be placed in isolation. The contact tracing efforts are underway.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has also received news of the recovery of 12 individuals, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 84. All active cases are currently doing well and none of them are situated in the intensive care unit. The new positives bring the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 5186.
