International South African Faf du Plessis will captain The St. Lucia Zouks for the 2021 CPL Games scheduled to take place August 28th in St. Kitts. Faf having served in the past as the Captain of the South African Team is all set to take on this role. He comes to the team with leadership and playing skills.
Right-handed middle-order batsman and part-time leg-spin bowler Faf noted “I am Super excited, privileged and honored to captain the side. Coming in as an outsider, I have the local legend Daren Sammy to show me the ropes.”
Head Coach Andy Flower expressed “It’s a hugh bonus to have Faf to captain for us. He is a good strong option after the loss of Daren Sammy.” He went on to express “I have been watching Fafs career with interest and seeing how flexible he is as a player, to being a dynamic T20 player.”
Daren Sammy weighed in sending a message to Faf “Bring your experience and amazing personality. We all know how great of a leader you are. Good Luck and over to you sir! Enjoy Captain St. Lucia cause I did.”
