An afternoon fire in one of the restaurants at the Gablewoods Mall temporarily paused the normal weekday workflow, as curious staff from other boutiques and stores made their way outside to assess the scene.
A call at approximately 4:33 P.M. reporting a fire was made to the 911 emergency line. The call, prompted responses by fire-fighters from the Babonneau Fire Station and Fire Service Headquarters.
At press time, firefighters were working assiduously to ensure no further damage came to the restaurant.
There was no visible damage to any of the neighbouring business houses or reports of injury to the staff of the restaurant.
