RESET 2021

We are at the end of the first month in the first quarter of 2021, and what a start to a year that is set to be a sensational year. It is going to be a year of Miracles and Reset. Things that are not right will be reversed and put in order. This is no prophecy but stay with me and enjoy the ride.

One year ago, our world was thrown into a dilemma, that unlike any other time in our lives, a pandemic emerged and threw the dreams and achievements of many into a tailspin. Anxiety and uncertainty invaded the minds of many and the world was thrown into emergency mode. As we came to the end of 2020, two vaccines were ready to roll out. However, it will take many months before the impact of vaccination will be felt.

Now, with just over a year, the pandemic remains with us and has killed and infected millions of people around the world. It has slowed down our pace of life. We endured lockdowns and restricted activities in our daily routine. We were requested to wash our hands regularly, wear mask and maintain social distancing. It was necessary to engage in self audit and in many instances adapting to new ways of living. The pandemic caused a RESET as many took the opportunity to chart a new course. It is not all doom and gloom, apart from record breaking gains in the stock market and the remarkable performance of the real estate industry, many individuals have adapted to the new measures introduced by industrial and commercial enterprises, such as working from home and communicating through digital platforms such as ZOOM and others. We now attend funeral services from the comfort of our homes and celebrate special occasions on Zoom. We are learning to stay within our immediate family, and sometimes wonder if life will ever return to the way it used to be. However, past experiences have shown that in our darkest hour, we will be   able to stand upright and say that this too shall pass.

It is evident that the COVID 19 pandemic will be with us for the greater part of 2021; it is time to take a serious look at how we reset our lives going forward. Many of us have taken the time that is available to us to improve our lives, by spending more time with our families, expanding our knowledge by reading, doing things around the home, getting our children to settle down to the new routine of online studies, etc. It is definitely a challenge as many of us seek to reset our domestic and professional lives, in the face of transitioning from being fully employed to partially or unemployed with no current assistance from government or otherwise.

Here under are my recommendations going forward, regardless of whatever state we find ourselves at this time.

  1. To build our FAITH to believe and accept that there is a higher power. Pray as a family, and individually, along with reading a few verses from our holy book.
  2. To develop self confidence in all our undertakings by affirming positive statements every morning and evening.
  3. To plan our finances to ensure that a path to generational wealth is charted.
  4. To set aside time for personal development by reading, and where possible expanding our professional skills by studying through online course/s.
  5. To reach out to those family and friends who due to our busy schedule, we were unable to maintain communication.
  6. To be grateful, giving thanks at all times regardless of whatever state we find ourselves.

Generally, we must take time to look back at our lives, assess our current situation, and challenge ourselves to be better human beings – expressing the gifts of love, empathy and respect for all going forward.

This is a time to live purposeful lives that will impact upon our immediate families and the wider community. We must be each other’s keeper. It is time to RESET our lives. Let us do what we have the ability to do, and the divine spirit will take care of the rest. Just do something to make a difference that will transform lives for the better. Blessings!

Remember Always, Yahweh is in charge; dream big and expect daily Miracles!
