Weather permitting, matches continue in Division 1 and 2 from this evening (Tuesday 21st through to Saturday 25th) in the 7th edition of the Adventist Premier League (APL) in collaboration with Eagle Freight Brokerage Services. The matches will be played under lights at the Balata playing field (BPF).
This evening from 6.30 pm. Labayee versus Caribbean Stars; Wednesday 22nd, from 6.30 p.m. Bocage CC takes on Gros Islet; Thursday 23rd from 6.30 p.m. Desruisseaux plays New Raj and Saturday 25th from 7.00 p.m. Central Blasters versus La Guerre.
Meanwhile, four matches were played on Sunday 19th at the BPF as there were wins for United Raiders CC (URCC); Carro’s Kitchen Strikers (CKS); North Eastern Veterans (NEV) and Babonneau Mini Bus (BMB).
United Raiders CC (URCC) made light work of 8 man Mon Repos who were missing their top players as they went on to defeat them by 125 runs.
URCC won the toss and decided to bat accumulating a total of 197 runs with Glenn Euristhee top scoring with 51; Rohan Albert made 43; while Shon Francois and Robert Rene chipped in with 24 and 17 respectively.
Bowling for Mon Repos, Ezra Francis picked up 3 for 21 in 3 overs and Kent Francis 1 for 26 in 4 overs.
Chasing 198 for victory, Mon Repos folded for 72 in 16.1 overs with David Doyle top scoring with 22 runs.
Bowling for URCC, Kenton Augustin took 2 for 22 in 3 overs; Robert Rene bagged 2 for 10 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each for Glenn Euristhee and Lakshman Parsaud.

Three matches were played in Division 2, at the Balata playing field in Game 1. Carro’s Kitchen Strikers (CKS) defeated All Start Stars (ASS) by 44 runs. CKS won the toss and decided to bat first scoring 152 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Lance Joseph top scored with 40; Shawn Edward 25, Trevon Reynolds 12 and Royden Edward 11.
Bowling for All Start Stars, Benjamin Osmond, Jamal Williams, Tyron Epiphane and Aloysius Williams had one wicket each.
Requiring 152 for victory, All Start Stars reached 98 for 8 in 20 overs with Benjamin Osmond top scoring with 25; Nelsons Williams 23 and Dino Osmond 17 the main contributors with the bat.
Bowling for CKS, Lance Joseph had a good all round performance; he picked up 2 for 6 in 4 overs, Richard Cherry 2 for 2 in 1 over, Denis Leo 2 for 20 in 2 overs and 1 wicket each to Niranjan Nayak and Germain Alexander.

In the second game played at the Grande Riviere playing field (GRPF), North Eastern Veterans (NE Vet) overcame Vanard defeating them by 32 runs.
Batting first, NE Veterans scored 139 for 9 in 20 overs. Clinton Jn Jacques 37; Francis Charles 34 and Imbert Common 15.
Bowling for Vanard, Danfer Edward, Nixon Gustave and Shewin Augustin had two wickets each.
In their reply Vanard were bowled out for 97 in 19. 1 overs.
Bowling for NE Veterans, Fancies Charles picked up 3 for 17 in 4 overs; Calvin Stanislaus 2 for 16 in 4 overs and one wicket each taken by Cyrus Cepal, Garret Alphonse and Camillus Monrose.
Francis Charles was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the final match for the day played under lights at the BPF, Babonneau Mini Bus (BMB) and NIC played an exciting and tense match with BMB holding their nerve to win at the end by 2 wickets in 15 overs.
NIC batted first and scored 66 all out in 19.1 overs. Only N. Stephen 14 and S. Charlemagne 10 reached double figures.
Bowling for BMB, F. Paul and K. Daisy bagged 3 wickets each; C. Pierre 2 wickets and A. Abraham 1 wicket.
In their reply, BMB were stunned when A. Antoine was bowled in the second delivery without scoring. They were in further trouble when the score was 38 for 5 in 10 overs. However, the Abraham Uncle and Nephew pair brought some stability to the inning to set up the victory of 67 for 8 in 18 overs.
