BRIDGETOWN, Barbados: Small business owners across the region will gain an opportunity to acquire actionable tips on marketing and using social media to drive business during COVID-19 when leading life insurer Sagicor hosts a live webinar on the subject this Thursday, June 4.
Driven by the topic “Marketing your small business in the new normal,” the webinar, which will take place at 6:00 pm, will see small business owners combining their real-life experiences with the industry knowledge of Sagicor’s Marketing, Communications and Brand Experience team.
Topics to be discussed include “Promoting your business using social media,” and “Marketing during COVID-19.” The importance of knowing one’s customer and gaining insights into their preferences will also take center stage with the topic “Using data to drive your business.” These and other areas of focus will be presented by senior members of Sagicor’s Marketing team. Small business owners Julian Greig of JNL Traders and website kwikily.com as well as Lily Dash and Sophie Bannister of Wi-Fetch, will also share their perspective on successfully navigating a small business in a COVID-19 environment. Eric Watson, Social Media Specialist at Canadian Agency, Grey Advertising will serve to round out the day’s presenters.
Sagicor will also be using their social media channels to promote a small business every week starting mid-June. The campaign will feature a different small business on Sagicor’s pages weekly and encourages followers to ‘Like and Share’, leave a review or tell a friend about the businesses featured.
Moderator of the session and Sagicor’s Vice-President, Group Marketing, Communications and Brand Experience, Ingrid Card said the company continues to explore ways that it can uplift various sectors of the community during and beyond COVID-19.
“Our local small businesses have always needed our support, but it has never been more necessary than now to rally behind those who have the potential to carry our regional economies out of this pandemic,” she said. “With this webinar, we are hoping that small business owners can come together and gain valuable and practical information that can help to elevate their operations in the immediate to short term.”
She continued, “Throughout this pandemic, our actions throughout the community, with our clients and our team members, have been guided by the theme “In this Together,” and we want small business owners to also know that we support them as well.”
