Three Matches Scheduled Today in SCCA T10 Cricket Tournament

MATCHES continue today (Saturday 7th September 2019) in the South Castries Cricket Association (SCCA) T10 Smash up at the Mindoo Phillip Park with a triple header commencing from 12.00 noon between Katahars and Ravaging Royals.

In game No.2, from 2.00 p.m. Cobras plays Warriors and Police versus Katahars at 4.00 p.m.

Last evening, Cobras took on Spartan Strikers.

On Thursday 5th, Warriors defeated Spartan Strikers by 9 wickets.

In a match reduced to 6 overs a side due to the late arrival of the Spartan Strikers team, Warriors were credited 25 bonus runs. Batting first Strikers were restricted to 69 for 1 with the main scorers being Captain Jamal James (33 not out) and Garvin Serieux (31).

In reply Warriors got to 72 for 1. Tonius Simon (22 not out) and Vern Gabriel (17 not out) saw the Warriors to victory.

A total of 7 sixes and 4 fours were registered. Garvin Serieux of Spartan Strikers led the maximums with three, while Tonius Simon (Warriors) and Jamal James (Spartan Strikers) each registered 2 fours.

Meanwhile, on the opening day (Wednesday 4th) the competition got off to an exciting start with a 46 run win for Police.

Batting first the Police team made 135 for the loss of 2 wickets in their allotted 10 overs benefiting from a 36 run penalty as the Ravaging Royals could only field 9 players. Calvin Stanislaus led the batting for Lawmen with 39 which included three maximums (6s).

Needing 136 for victory, the Royals put up a spirited fight with TenessyHippolyte 29, Denzil James and Chad Polius 25 each.

A total of 10 sixes, 13 fours and 3 catches were registered. Calvin Stanislaus (Police) 3 sixes and Denzil James (Ravaging Royals) 3 fours were the main performers on Wednesday.
