FAYTH Jeffrey was the lone swimmer from Saint Lucia to attend the recently concluded Goodwill Swim Championships hosted in Suriname. Jeffrey, who has represented Saint Lucia on numerous occasions at various regional meets, traveled to Suriname with her mother, Donna Kaidou-Jeffrey, participating in the 9-10 Girls age group.
Jeffrey didn’t disappoint! Goodwill Swim Championships is normally a short course 25 meters pool developmental meet. Due to weather conditions, Suriname requested of the participating members to use their long course 50 meters pool. Jeffrey stepped right up and achieved personal best times in the majority of her events.
She represented on the podium taking second place in the 100 meters Breaststroke. Jeffrey also achieved great results in the 9-10 Girls Age group decreasing her time over 4 seconds in the event.
Her overall performance placed her fifth in the 9-10 Girls age group and first overall for Girls aged 9. Achieving AAA and AA times in most of her events, Jeffrey was elated about her overall experience and appreciated the opportunity to represent Saint Lucia again.
Jeffrey a local member of the Sea Jays Swim Club is currently training in Barbados. Her favourite events are the 50 meters and 100 meters Breaststroke.
She is looking forward to representing Saint Lucia at OECS Swimming Championships being hosted by the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Association.
Jeffrey’s long term goal is to continue representing Saint Lucia at regional and international events according to her development and eligibility.
