3 SCCA/NLA T20 Matches This Weekend

Matches continue today and tomorrow at the Mindoo Phillip Park in the 2019 South Castries Cricket Association/ National Lotteries Authority (SCCA/NLA) T20 Cricket Tournament.

One game is on the cards today from 10.00 a.m. Crusaders takes on Millet.

Tomorrow, from 10.00 a.m. South Castries Cricket Association (SCCA) Under 19 team will play Bexon Oval Super Stars; while at 2.00 p.m. Crusaders will face Forestiere.

On Thursday 1st August (Emancipation Day) it was another double header played at the Park.

In the morning encounter, defending champions Forestiere Katahars suffered their second successive loss this time against the Bexon Oval Super Stars.

Batting first the Forestiere Katahars rattled up 148 for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, behind knocks by Tyla Sookwa 68 and Atanus Albersen 25.

Adil Barlow was Bexon’s most successful bowler with 2 for 27.

A five wicket haul by left arm spinner Atanus Albersen was not enough to see his team over the line as Bexon reached 149 for 9. Orey Changoo 31 and Lee Solomon 30 were the main contributors with the bat for the Super Stars.

Bowling for Bexon,  Atanus Albersen bagged 5 for 14 and this also earned him the Man of the Match award.

In the day’s second match Millet Cobras defeated Bexon Oval Super Stars by 43 runs.

Summarized scores: Millet batting first scored 152 for the loss of 8 wickets with Anderson Charles top scoring with 40, while Leary Auguste made 27.

Bowling for Bexon, Adil Barlow took 2 for 19 and Nixon Edmund picked up 2 for 27.

In reply Bexon could only manage 109. Collinus Callender top scored with 42, Chaz Cepal 25 and Lee Solomon 21.

Bowling for Millet, Leary Auguste bagged 4 for 19, Shervon Leo picked up 3 for 14 and Bradly Giddings 2 for 32.

Leary Auguste was adjudged Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, the SCCA has moved swiftly to deal with a matter involving a spectator and three players of the Forestierre Katahars team which occurred during the Katahars match versus Millet Cobras.  The three players have been suspended with immediate effect pending a hearing of the Disciplinary Committee slated for Tuesday 6th August 2019.
