PONM Damou Kreations is looking to inject to new life into the fine arts entertainment scene in Soufriere. The company whose tagline is Roots and Evolution will bring its branded Ponm Damou Poetry Slam to the picturesque western town. The event is scheduled to take place at Ti Tak Café on Bridge Street on Saturday March 30 at 7:30pm.
The Ponm Damou Poetry Slam looks to highlight the literary skills of six poets including Stevaco Joseph, Jonathan Edmunds and Aagee Simpson. There will be three rounds of poetic competition on the night and will be interlaced with musical talents. The eventuality is to inculcate all aspects of the art spectrum inclusive of drama, comedy and fashion on this stage.
Kensley Charlemagne, the owner of Ponm Damou Kreations welcomes the opportunity to cooperate with Mauricia Francis of ‘Ti Tak’ in reshaping the entertainment landscape in what is deemed the touristic capital of Saint Lucia. Ti Tak in itself is a refreshing treasure set up a year ago with a comfortable ambience.
According to Charlemagne, the Ponm Damou Poetry Slam has a ten year history, most of which was concentrated in Castries and Gros Islet. “I am happy to decentralize. Ponm Damou Kreations goes where others dare not too. We have led the way in the north and we hope to do the same in the South,” he said. “The goal is to bring many creatives together and radiate the splendor and honour of the greats who have gone before us”.
