THE Saint Lucia Squash Team Tournament was held on Sunday 17th February at the Saint Lucia Yacht Club and was a resounding success. The event was held in commemoration of the island’s 40th Anniversary of Independence and was filled with exciting matches as 26 players battled it out on the court. They were grouped into four different teams and ranked by their level of skill.
The players competed against equally ranked players from the other teams and their points were tallied for a cumulative team final score. This format allowed players from all levels to enjoy playing games that were competitive and fun. Notably, the Saint Lucia Yacht Club and the Independence Committee generously supported this tournament.
After 74 games were played for the day, the final scores resulted in very close results: 1st place Team Caribbean Blue with 347 points; 2nd place Team Market Place with 345 points; while Rain Forest Foods and Team Ferrands Foods tied for third place with 324 points.
