On Wednesday November 7th the St. Lucia Industrial and Small Business Association (SLISBA) hosted a Seminar for its members on the theme “Unlocking the Benefits of Energy Efficiency for Greater Profitability.” Forty six members of the organization attended the Seminar, which was very successful and taught members how to better manage energy usage and to implement energy efficient measures to avoid waste of energy and money. The Seminar also taught participants how to analyse existing use of energy through effective energy audits
The facilitators for the Seminar were Ms. Judith Ephraim, Head of the OECS Sustainable & Energy Department, Mr. Randall Joseph of Sol Lucian, Mr. Gilroy Pultie of Lucelec, Mr. Victor Emmanuel of Lucelec and Ms. Benise Joseph of the Department of Sustainable Development, Government of St. Lucia.
Participating business owners expressed appreciation for this timely Seminar which armed them with strategies on how to reduce the amount they pay for utility bills and encouraged the association to host similar events in all districts where SLISBA members operate a wide range of small medium and micro enterprises.
