CASTRIES Mayor Peterson Francis has urged City vendors to take advantage of a vendor registration programme soon to be launched by the Castries Constituency Council (CCC), promising the initiative will offer “many benefits”.
Francis was addressing a training programme for vendors Monday.
He told vendors gathered that by registering they will receive, among other benefits, free access to public comfort stations, job letters identifying them as authorised vendors and provisions to gain National Insurance Corporation (NIC) retirement packages.
“We are now tweaking our programme so that all vendors registered under our Vendors’ Registration Programme benefit significantly,” Francis explained.
He said that while the ultimate objective is to revitalise Castries and facilitate enterprise, vendors must assist in the process by improving the service that they offer.
“Ensure you fully participate to realise a better enterprising and vending system in the City of Castries,” Francis urged.
