PRESS RELEASE – ON Wednesday July 5th , 2018, the GEW Advisory Board met at the Chamber of Commerce secretariat to evaluate the success and impact of GEW 2017; challenges faced and to set the stage for yet another successful GEW 2018. Among the recommendations made by the Board is an increase visibility on the print and social media platforms highlighting the successes achieved by GEW St Lucia which would provide additional PR for start-ups and by extension all stakeholders and the establishment of a Small Business Help Desk to make it easier for critical information to be accessed by small businesses.
This informative meeting was followed by the 1st GEW Partners meeting on July 12th 2018 at the Bay Gardens Hotel with partners expressing their enthusiasm to be part of this global movement where opportunities are presented to connect and engage with policy makers, likeminded individuals and experts as they seek to scale up their enterprise and or receive valuable feedback during the GEW celebrations.
GEW will be celebrated from November 12th to 18th 2018; during that week over 189 countries will champion the compass – the GEW logo – connecting millions of people around the world to a movement of entrepreneurial champions and advocates. Beyond providing that connection, the compass increases awareness of partner organisations and its leadership in promoting entrepreneurship in the community, the country and the world. The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has once again recommitted to its duties as host organisation with GEW Inc. to plan and implement Global Entrepreneurship Week by signing a MOU for the next 2 years effective 2018 and ending in 2012.
The Chamber expresses its appreciation to all partners and members of the Advisory Board for their willingness to support GEW St. Lucia as their involvement will ensure that GEW St. Lucia grows from strength to strength. Invitations is also extended to all organisations island wide to become partners in recognition of GEW 2018 and are encouraged to attend monthly meetings in preparation for a successful celebration. The next meeting is scheduled for today Tuesday 14th August 2018 at the Bay Gardens Hotel.
