CHANTÉ KWÉYÒL, the National Kwéyòl Song Competition will be hosted on Wednesday October 17, 2018 at the National Cultural Center.
The annual competition held under the “Annoumanje, danse, chanteenkweyol (pouChacom)” banner will again be hosted as part of the official activities in observance of Kwéyòl Heritage Month in October.
As part of preparation for this exciting event, this year’s Kwéyòl Writing Workshop will be held this Saturday August 25, at the Royal St Lucia Police Band Room from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Facilitated by the Folk Research Center, the workshop this year will be held under the theme “The Use of the Kwéyòl Language in Producing a Saint Lucian Product.” The workshop will not only focus on Kwéyòl writing but also on infusing local rhythms and music with the Kwéyòl language.
