Police Association Supports Marijuana Legalization

The Police Welfare Association (PWA) has come out in support of legalizing marijuana.

PWA President, Travis Chicot, told St Lucia Times in an interview, that as far as the organization is concerned, it is fitting at this time to ascertain why ganja was made illegal in the first place.

He said the association believes ganja should be made legal in Saint Lucia.

“The Police Welfare Association, as a body, understands the new shift and we believe it is very important now for our governments to meet together and discuss legalizing the cannabis,” Chicot stated.

“The Police Welfare Association, as an organization, stands its ground and believes that there are a number of benefits that will be derived from legalizing the cannabis crop,” he noted.

Chicot explained that while the PWA may not be in a position to speak to smoking of marijuana, the association is aware of other uses for the herb, including use in manufacturing and in helping persons who are suffering from certain medical conditions.

  1. So the Police WELFARE association believes that there are a number of benefits
that will be derived from legalizing the Cannabis crop.
Never in my life would I ever believe that a “Police Association in St.Lucia” would ask
it’s government to revoke the Law against an illegal substance. What else is next?
would the next move is to legalize Cocaine, and hand Guns to whoever can afford one???
What little else is there to Police in St.Lucia? The drug war lords would love the whole idea.
