IT is motocross again, this time in Vieux Fort scheduled for tomorrow. The vision of the St. Lucia Motocross X Club is to make motocross another option as a sporting activity, targeting primarily the youth. It is our hope that by decentralising the sport of motocross persons will get a better appreciation for the sport and take advantage of the many opportunities that can be derived from it.
The track in Vieux Fort is better suited for speed with fewer table tops and obstacles, so racing this Sunday will be fast and furious, something Vieux Fort is known for. The riders who will be making the podium finishes will have to be at the top of their game with skill and technique cause fitness would be one of the key elements to winning.
Judging from race one in Cul-de-Sac last month, the battle will continue in class ‘A’ with Olson Francois riding bike # 10, Brian Leonce riding bike # 22 and Arrkim Griffith riding bike # 14. In class ‘C’ the same rivalry is expected between Jah-Maleen Alcindor riding bike # 100, Darren Auguste riding bike # 777, Rossi Mc Lean riding bike # 46 and Dane Cenac riding bike # 3.
The action continues in class ‘C’ with our youngest and only female rider RajaniMalaykhan riding bike # 78 doing battle with Christian Eudoxie riding bike # 110, Alpha Bert riding bike # 332 and Kareem Louis riding bike # 3.
With the return of Davidson “Weng-Weng” Belizaire riding bike # 18 in class ‘A’ and Amir riding bike # 88 in class ‘B’ the heat is sure to increase by a few degrees.
There will be a few surprises, like our very own # 1 wheelie giant Shaquille Jn Marie to be on hand to entertain the crowd.
If all goes well, starting time is expected to be at 2:00p.m. and it’s a free event. Make it a family outing, tell a friend and make Vieux Fort the place to be this Sunday.
