PRESS RELEASE – THE Saint Lucia National Youth Council (SLNYC) officially launched its Youth Ambassadors Network on Saturday, December 9 during a ceremony at the Conference Room of the Department of Youth and Sports.
The NYC has realized the importance of developing the leadership prowess of youth, and as such, aims to provide the relevant platforms for young Saint Lucians to realize their leadership potential.
The Youth Ambassadors Network will provide youth with the opportunity to cultivate these skills through representation at events on the community, district, national, regional and international levels. Through training, the young ambassadors will receive the relevant knowledge and experience in order to provide the best representation for themselves and their communities. Ambassadors will be nurtured in order to take up the mantle of youth development in Saint Lucia.
VISION: A committed network of inspiring youth, working diligently to provide quality representation for themselves and their communities; acting as role models to their peers.
MISSION: To build and culture leadership in Saint Lucian youth, by providing them with the capacity and opportunities to serve as representatives of their communities, districts and countries.
The NYC also used the opportunity to launch the International Chapter of the Youth Ambassadors Network. The role of the International Ambassadors will be to represent the voices of, and engage Saint Lucian in the diaspora.
