PRESS RELEASE – THE Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in conjunction with the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) and the Saint Lucia JICA Alumni Association will host their “JICA Volunteer Festival” this Saturday at the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The primary objective of this year’s festival is to sensitize the general public through various creative means of the purpose of the JICA Volunteers Programme and how it contributes to Saint Lucia’s development.
The mission of JICA is to contribute to aspire for a free, peaceful and prosperous world with trust. The JICA Volunteer Programme involves Japanese citizens supporting socio-economic development in Japan’s partner countries, Saint Lucia being one of those partners.
This year’s activities in observance of the JICA Volunteer Festival will include Introduction of JICA, an Introduction of Japanese Culture and Cuisine, Blind Walk, Tennis Ball Massage, An Environmental Booth, and Fun Quizzes.
JICA in conjunction with the JOCV and Saint Lucia JICA Alumni Association encourage the participation and support of the general public in this event.
