SOUFRIERE, St. Lucia – 88.5 Soufriere FM continues to grow its unique brand as an innovative community radio station by investing in its human resource capital to strengthen operations.
Last Friday, the Soufriere Foundation, the parent overseeing company of the subsidiary entity, convened a six week intense Broadcast Management Training as part of a strategic approach to assist the radio station in realizing its full potential.
The training curriculum was delivered by renowned and highly-acclaimed media educator, Jerry George, who expressed heartfelt satisfaction at seeing 88.5 metamorphose from its fledging conception. The facilitator further commended the Foundation for having the foresight to empower the radio station personnel.
Said Mr. George to the trainees, “You are fortunate to be part of this competency and skill building programme, media training can be a costly enterprise and I implore all to maximize the benefit of this training.”
According to Mr. Jimmy Haynes, Executive Director, “We need to show perceptible improvement and this initiative serves as platform to move the radio station one step closer to excellence.”
Radio Station supervisor Melissa Fontenelle, added her endorsement for the training and its timeliness all the while echoing the praises of her subordinates and vision of the Soufriere Foundation.
